Jolly Good Tours - Terms and Conditions.
This document outlines what Jolly Good Tours LLC agrees to provide when you sign up for a tour, and what you agree to do in return. This information is very important, please read it carefully.
Current tour prices are listed on the page corresponding to each tour. Due to currency fluctuations, tour prices may change without notice at any time. Tour participants who already registered for a tour will not be affected by any price changes.
The terms 'Tour Buddy or Tour Buddies' refers to travelers (tour members, tour participants) on Jolly Good Tours' tours.
What is included in the price of the tour.
Accommodations in hotels, motels or inns as outlined in the tour itinerary. Specific hotels for each tour will be listed neared to departure date. We reserve the right to substitute accommodations of similar standard when necessary.
All transportation during 'included group or part group activities' as listed in the tour itinerary.
Transfers between the arrival airport and the hotel on arrival day and between the hotel and the airport on departure day as listed in the tour itinerary. Tour Buddies arriving the day before the official start day or departing after the official tour departure date should inquire about transfers.
The services of a Jolly Good Tours' British or Irish Tour Director (Tour Guide.) and British or Irish Tour Driver. The services of a Lady Hostess if mentioned in the tour itinerary.
Touring in a motor coach with seat-belts, restroom and a/c..
Porterage of one suitcase per person at hotels unless described otherwise in the tour itinerary.
Tips to Jolly Good Tours' Tour Director and Lady Hostess unless specified as not included in the tour itinerary.
Dinner and breakfast as described in the tour itinerary.
Tips to dining staff when dining as a group and dining individually in the group hotel for dinner.
What is NOT included in the price of the tour.
Airfares, airport security fees and airport taxes.

Travel insurance, accident insurance, baggage insurance, health insurance, repatriation insurance or life insurance. We highly recommend obtaining individual travel insurance for the duration of the tour (trip cancellation, foreign medical, flight delays and cancellations, medical evacuation). Baggage is carried during the tour at owner's risk and baggage insurance is highly recommended. We are not responsible for baggage loss or delay due to airline error.
Other transportation to the tour start location. For example if you are not flying into the designated airport. Consideration will be given to a refund of any unused airport transfer coast element provided notification is given prior to departure date.
Hotel room service charges.
Hotel mini-bar charges.
Any other personal expenditure.
Tips for local guides and Tour Drivers.
Additional expenses incurred as a result of illness, weather, hostilities, change of schedules, travel and other delays, weather, strikes and industrial action generally, quarantine, government actions or any other action, activity, process or event beyond the control of Jolly Good Tours LLC. shall be borne by Tour Buddies.
Jolly Good Tours' tours include some walking, stairs and spiral staircases in castles and standing while sightseeing. If you have any concerns regarding your physical ability to participate in the tour, we strongly recommend that you consult your doctor or physician before signing up for a tour. Any pre-existing physical, mental, or emotional disability that may require attention or treatment must be reported in writing prior to the beginning of a tour. Tour Buddies who require any form of assistance must be accompanied by a helper who is capable of and totally responsible for providing such assistance. The group's itinerary cannot be adjusted for people who are not able to keep up with the rest of the group. All Tour Buddies are required to complete and sign a Medical Release and Waiver Agreement. On the day the tour begins, or any day thereafter.
Jolly Good Tours LLC. is not responsible for any refunds for a trip interruption or delay of your own cause. The minimum age for participants is 18 on most tours but on some tours 12 so please see individual tour itinerary for confirmation.
Smokers and smoking.
Smokers may only smoke in accordance with the laws of the country being visited. In outdoor situations such as walking tours smokers will be requested to smoke downwind of the group. Smoking in most hotels is governed by the laws of the of the country in which the hotel is located. Smokers may request smoking rooms in hotels through Jolly Good Tours but smoking rooms cannot be guaranteed. Smokers should note that some hotels no longer have smoking rooms. Jolly Good Tours use rail travel and consequently some railway (railroad) stations' platforms are partly or completely open (not indoors). Smoking is not permitted indoors or outdoors on railway station platforms.
Travel documents and visas.
Tour Buddies are required to have a valid passport and a visa, if necessary. Incomplete documentation will result in the airline and airport authorities refusing permission to enter the country. Jolly Good Tours LLC. cannot arrange for passports or visas and will not be held liable for any irregularities caused due to improper documentation. Each Tour Buddy is responsible for determining specific passport and visa requirements in the Tour Buddy's country of origin and/or residence in relation to the country being visited and for obtaining the necessary documents prior to departure. Passports must be valid for at least 9 months beyond the anticipated tour date. It is suggested that all Tour Buddies and prospective Tour Buddies check with the appropriate consulate or embassy regarding their passport and/or visa requirements.
Tour itineraries are subject to change due to unexpected circumstances. Jolly Good Tours reserve the right to cancel, change or substitute an activity or a service. During local or national holidays certain facilities such as museums, sightseeing tours, and shopping may be limited. Uncompleted portions of the tour itinerary are not cause for refund.
Jolly Good Tours does not sell optional extra trips but includes some highlights in the tour price that rely on other tour operators selling optional extra trips. For example the Shannon castle banquets at Bunratty or Knappogue in Ireland. If such an included feature does not operate because of lack of numbers at the venue then Jolly Good Tours will refund the cost of the event less the cost of any substitute dining arrangements.
It may be necessary to change the components of the tour and the tour itinerary during the course of the tour due to travel restrictions like traffic delays, rail services delays or changes and other reasons beyond the control of Jolly Good Tours LLC.. In the event of a touring coach breakdown a substitute coach may be used temporarily or permanently for the remainder of the tour. Jolly Good Tours will request a similar standard vehicle to the original one contracted from the coach hire operator but it may be of a lesser standard, design or layout temporarily or for the remainder of the tour.
Waiver of responsibility.
Jolly Good Tours and its representatives which includes, but is not limited to Tour Directors, Lady Hostesses and ground crew ("Tour Organizers") are making all ground arrangements relevant to the Tour. This includes, but is not limited to, hotel and dining reservations and sightseeing with or without entrance admissions subject to the condition that Jolly Good Tours and the Tour Organizers will not be held liable to injury, death, delay, theft, damage, or irregularities, however caused.
Jolly Good Tours and Tour Organizers will take no responsibility or liability for: 1. injury, loss, or damage to persons or property, including luggage. 2. Additional expenses resulting from changes in exchange rates, tariffs, or schedules. 3. The act or default of any company or person engaged in conveying Tour Buddies, or in carrying out the arrangements of the Tour, or otherwise. 4. Additional expenses incurred or due to sudden sickness, weather conditions, strikes, or other causes or acts of God. 5. Losses due to cancellations.
Tour Buddies are responsible for their own travel arrangements to arrive at the tour start location and then from the tour finish location after any included airport transfers. Please note that some tours start and end in different cities and an 'open jaw' or 'multi-city' air ticket is required. Jolly Good Tours does not sell air tickets but can advise on best routes with best prices. Your local travel agent will also be able to sell you an air ticket for a small fee. Jolly Good Tours does not recommend buying airfare until we confirm that the tour is operating.
To reserve space on a tour, a registration fee of US$50 per person per tour is required at the time of booking. No reservation is considered confirmed until the registration fee is received by Jolly Good Tours. The registration fee is part of the deposit and final payment. The registration fee is refundable at any time until the deposit is paid. The final payment must reach us no later than 60 days prior to the start of the tour. Returned checks/cheques will incur a fee of $18. For all deposits and tour payments, we accept personal checks/cheques, Visa, Master Card and PayPal. Missing the final payment deadline may result in being removed from the tour.
Cancellations and refunds.
Tour deposits are not refundable if you cancel for a non insured reason but if you cancel the tour 60 or more days prior to the beginning of the tour, the entire amount, minus $20 administrative fee may be applied to another tour starting within the next 12 months. All cancellations must be sent in writing via email. Do not consider a cancellation received and effective until you get a cancellation confirmation.
In the case of human or computer billing error we reserve the right to re-invoice Tour Buddies & potential Tour Buddies with correct billing.
Although we do our best to avoid this, it may occasionally become necessary for Jolly Good Tours to cancel any tour due to insufficient sign-up or any other cause. We recommend not purchasing your air ticket until you receive confirmation from Jolly Good Tours that the tour is operating. If a tour is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified at least 60 days in advance of the tour departure date. In this case, your entire payment will be refunded to you within fourteen days after the tour cancellation. Refund of payments made constitutes full settlement, and releases Jolly Good Tours from any further liability. We are not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by tour members preparing for a canceled tour, such as non-refundable airline tickets or passport fees. In the unlikely event of the tour cancellation, you will receive a $100 gift certificate. If a tour is cancelled due to a natural disaster, strike, or other event outside our control, we cannot guarantee the 45 days notice, but you will receive a full refund of all payments made, and in this case the $100 gift certificate” will not” be issued.
Jolly Good Tours strongly encourages all Tour Buddies to purchase travel insurance to cover additional costs (airline tickets, loss of luggage, trip delay or tour cancellation, personal accident, medical evacuation, etc.). We assume no liability for the safety of any Tour Buddy while in transit or during the tour. Jolly Good Tours is not responsible or liable for loss, damage or theft of luggage or personal injury, accidents or illness while on tour nor for any type of trip interruption.
Publicity photographs, video clips and online images.
Jolly Good Tours and its representatives of the Tour Organizers may be photographing or videoing the Tour or parts of the tour. Jolly Good Tours and the Tour Organizers reserve the right to publish any such photographs, images and video clips without obtaining further consent from Tour Buddies. Tour Buddies release Jolly Good Tours and the Tour Organizers and its representatives from any liability in connection with any such use of such photographs, images or video clips. Any Tour Buddy who prefers not be featured in such publicity material for Jolly Good Tours should speak to the Tour Director at the 'Welcome Reception'. Jolly Good Tours will then make every effort exclude the Tour Buddy from the publicity material although such an exclusion can't be guaranteed.
Leaving the tour.
Jolly Good Tours and the Tour Organizers reserve the right to accept, decline, or retain any person as a participant/Tour Buddy in the tour at any time without liability and without any obligation to pay a refund or any other amount whatsoever. Jolly Good Tours and the Tour Organizers take no responsibility or liability for any participant/Tour Buddy who leaves the tour prior to its conclusion or for any activity undertaken by any participant that is not included on the tour itinerary. There will be no discounts or refunds for any Tour Buddy who temporarily leaves the Tour and then returns to the tour later.
We will advise hotels of any special requests from Tour Buddies, provided we receive the request at the time of booking. However, we cannot guarantee all requests.
Payment of the registration fee, deposit or full payment shall be deemed as consent by the Tour Buddy to the above Terms and Conditions.
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY: I am entirely responsible for my own personal safety, health, and mental, physical, emotional, and general well-being during and after the Tour. I release Jolly Good Tours LLC. and its representatives and any of their employees, assistants, and affiliates of any liability for any injuries or damages mentally or physically that I or any of my family members might incur during or after the tour. I understand that no health insurance or travel insurance will be provided by Jolly Good Tours or the Tour Organizers and if I wish to be insured, I must do this myself.
Valid through December 31, 2013.
I have read, understood, and fully agree to the foregoing TERMS AND CONDITIONS. I release Jolly Good Tours LLC and its representatives from all responsibility and liability.
